Female reality TV star expected to make HS coaching history in Miami

By: Andy Slater

She's known as Bernice from 'South Beach Tow.' Soon, she'll most likely also be known as a head football coach.

Lakatriona Brunson is expected to be named head football coach at Miami Jackson High School, I was told this past weekend.

It's believed that Brunson would be the first female head football coach in the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Brunson is currently a teacher at Miami Jackson High School, a requisite to be a head football coach in Miami-Dade County. Besides being a TV star, Brunson previously played for the Miami Fury --- a women's football league.

It's also expected that rapper Luther Campbell will be Brunson's assistant coach. Campbell most recently served as defensive coordinator at Miami Norland High School.

Campbell, aka Uncle Luke, appears on my weekday radio show on 940 WINZ and iHeartRadio. He will continue to co-host every Tuesday.

The head coaching vacancy at Miami Jackson was created when former University of Miami and NFL player Earl Little stepped down after two seasons.

Miami Jackson went 3-6 last year.
