A mother spent New Year's Eve popping bottles instead of making them, and woke up in jail.
Not having anyone to watch her one-year-old child didn't stop 19-year-old mom, Lancia Lambert, from going out to party on New Year's Eve, according to an exclusively-obtained arrest report.
Lambert came home from celebrating the new year around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, North Miami police say. When she got home, her kid wasn't there. She called the cops.
When officers arrived, they say Lambert smelled from alcohol and slurred her speech.
Lambert told police she thought her neighbor was going to watch the child while she went out partying with her cousins. Her neighbor, though, says she told Lambert she wouldn't watch the kid because she was too tired and walked away.
Cops used police dogs and a helicopter to search for the missing child. The one-year-old was eventually found at a friend's house, police say.
Police say the kid was left alone for more than an hour.
Lambert was arrested and charged with child neglect. She's since bonded out of jail.
