Ravens CB fighting for his life after dirt-bike crash

By: Andy Slater

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker crashed on a dirt bike he was riding Thursday night while wearing his NFL team's jersey. He is now fighting for his life in a Miami hospital.

Miami-Dade Police sources tell me that Walker may have been racing someone just before being involved in the serious crash. Police are looking for the person who's connected to the possible street race or at least was a witness to the incident. (Update: Police said on Friday morning that after a preliminary investigation, this "possible" other person may indeed just be a witness and not involved.)

The person police want to speak with may have been wearing a New England Patriots jersey. One police source told me the report of that individual being an actual Patriots player is "simply a rumor right now and cannot be confirmed."

(Update: Police confirmed on Friday morning that they have no information pertaining to the identity of the "possible" second person)

Walker sustained very severe head injuries, according to police sources. Jackson Memorial Hospital listed him in critical condition.

The incident, first reported by WPLG's Liane Morejon, took place Thursday evening near Northwest 75th Street and Northwest 21st Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

Walker was a rookie this past season for the Ravens and grew up in Miami.
