What Did Tommy Say?

MLB hitting coaches show up to the clubhouse early the entire season, but Tommy Hutton says that may not turn out to be the case with Barry Bonds.

"I have a hard time believing a guy like Barry Bonds, if the team is 15 games out in August, is going to show up at 1  o'clock and look at video," Hutton said during the debut of weekly-appearance on The Andy Slater Show.

What Did Tommy Say?

  • If Stanton stays healthy "You just write it down, he's going to hit 40 homeruns."
  • On who should win Marlins' closer job: "There's no adrenaline (during exhibition games), so I don't think you can make a decision in Spring Training on a closer unless you've already decided that."
  • On Tony Clark's idea to shut clubhouses down to media: "It's an awful idea... Players at times all around baseball can become too sensitive to what is written and what is said about them."

Tommy Hutton joins The Andy Slater Show every Monday at 3:30p during baseball season on 940 WINZ and iHeartRadio.
