Miami Dolphins considering adding 'New York' to stadium name?

"Welcome to New York Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL."

The New York/South Florida rivalry could reach epic proportions.

While it may be one of several possibilities, it seems as if it's something the Miami Dolphins have considered.

The team could make a naming-rights deal with Hard Rock or Qatar Airways, according to an NBCMiami report published on Friday, but I've exclusively learned the Dolphins also did purchase the domain newyorklifestadium.com.

New York Life Insurance Company is headquartered in New York but does have South Florida offices.

Other domains the Dolphins purchased for their stadium:

GMstadium.com (General Motors)

Mednaxfield.com (Mednax is a medical group based in Sunrise, FL.)

Porschestadium.com (One would assume it's the automaker)

StaplesStadium.com (Staples office supply store)

HardRockStadium.com and QatarAirwaysStadium.com were also purchased.
