(Apr. 3, 2019: New exclusive video of the incident obtained)
Just days before he is scheduled to fight on ESPN’s Top Rank Boxing, new photos have emerged from a bloody South Beach brawl involving undefeated, Olympic medalist Shakur Stevenson.
These exclusively-obtained pictures will be used in the case.
Additionally, according to a police source, the State Attorney is looking into upgrading the charge against Stevenson and another boxer involved in the incident, 31-year-old David Grayton, to felonies. That decision could be based on surveillance video.
Initially, both boxers were each charged with one count of misdemeanor battery.
The fight happened in a parking garage in Miami Beach on July 1.
The alleged victims in this case were a male and female.
Pictures of the male show blood all over his clothing. Both his eyes are black-and-blue and swollen.
According to the arrest report, this victim was pummeled “even while he was on the floor.”
A female victim also had a black-and-blue eye.
The photos of Stevenson include a picture of him pointing to a small cut on his lip and other photos of his hands in cuffs.
Social media posts indicated that Stevenson was in South Florida celebrating his 21st birthday.
Photos obtained of Grayton do not show any injuries to his face, but there does appear to be blood coming from a cut on his finger.
Stevenson’s next hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27 in Miami-Dade County court.
Stevenson’s fight will be in Atlantic City on Saturday night at 10 p.m. on ESPN.
